Summoning Game design představuje – Retro Gaming Night! Máte rádi retro hry? Máte nějaké na svém počítači nebo třeba máte stále funkční retro konzole? Pokud ano, zveme vás k účasti na našem eventu, kde proběhne přednáška o nové hře Sticks Racing na Atari 2600 a zároveň s tím máte možnost donést vaše vlastní oblíbené retro hry.
Hlavní tvůrci hry Sticks Racing na Atari 2600, Vojtěch Nedvěd společně s Petrem Šťastným vás provedou první částí večera.
Vojta je zvukový designér a tvůrce her pro staré konzole, který pracuje v herním studiu Warhorse stojícím za hrou Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Mimo práci se Vojta věnuje především své rodině, baví ho vaření a také hokej.
Petr pracuje jako grafický designér na volné noze pro malé i velké klienty. Jeho rozsah je od 1bitových spritů až po 8K videomappingy. Kromě jeho práce ho baví fotografování a estetika CGA barev.
A co nám řekli k jejich plánované přednášce? Na co se můžete těšit? „Vytvořit hru pro konzolu Atari 2600 dá hodně práce, ale nakonec nejde zas o raketovou vědu. Provedeme vás procesem tvorby – od nápadu, přes programování, grafiku až po ozvučení. Také si ukážeme, čím jsme si prošli při výrobě cartridgí pro konzoli.“
Druhá část večera bude záviset čistě na vás. Budeme rádi, pokud donesete svoje laptopy s vašimi oblíbenými retro hrami anebo pokud máte funkční konzole a vybavení k nim, tak těm se taky nebráníme. Po přednášce budete mít možnost si vyzkoušet už zmiňovanou hru Sticks Racing, pobavit se s tvůrci a taktéž si zahrát retro hry, které donesou ostatní.

Summoning Game design presents – Retro Gaming Night! Do you like retro games? Do you have any of them installed on your computer or you maybe have an old console that is still functioning? If the answer is yes, we invite you to our event that will include a presentation about a new game Sticks Racing on the Atari 2600 and to bring your own device with retro games on it to enjoy an entertaining evening.
As promised, we'd like to bring you more information for the upcoming Summoning Game Design event. First of all, our speakers of the night, the main creators of the game Sticks Racing on the Atari 2600 – Vojtěch Nedvěd and Petr Šťastný – will lead you through the first part of the evening.
Vojta is a sound designer and creator of games for old consoles, who works at the Warhorse Studios, the game company behind the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Outside of work, Vojta mainly devotes himself to his family, enjoys cooking and hockey.
Petr works as a freelance graphic designer for smaller and bigger clients, ranging from 1-bit sprites to 8K video mappings. In addition to his work, he enjoys photography and the aesthetics of CGA colors.
And about their presentation? „It takes a lot of work to create a game for the Atari 2600 console, but in the end, it’s not rocket science. We will take you through the creation process – from the idea, through programming, to graphics and sound. We’ll also show you what we went through when making the cartridges for the console.“
The second part of the evening will depend on you. It would make us happy if you bring your laptops with your favorite retro games or if you have functional consoles and equipment for them, we don’t mind those either. And what is Retro? Anything that you would feel retro yourself! After the lecture, you will have the opportunity to try the previously mentioned game Sticks Racing, have a discussion with the creators, and play retro games that others will bring.
The gates of the Kavalírka cinema will open to visitors at 18:30.
The program starts at 19:00.
